Nouf AlSemari grew up in Dhahran, the eastern region of Saudi Arabia, and graduated from King Faisal University. She is a self-taught painter who weaves layered narratives within her works with an often-playful tone. Semari has been exhibiting her work since 2010 throughout the Gulf at galleries such as Ayyam Co Community Art & in Dubai and RIWAQ in Bahrain. In 2014, she was the winner of Clyde Project and in April 2017, she completed the Majlis Studio Residency program in New York, an initiative of King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture and was part of the T20 at the G20 representative artists that took place in Riyadh 2020.
